Devotee Matrimony is a matrimonial application, equipped to aid users like you in finding the most suitable and culture-friendly partners (“Application or site”) and takes full responsibility for your profile and other details. By using or accessing the App, you are accepting these Terms and Conditions (“Terms”), which you are expected to abide by. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must refrain from using the App.

1. Acceptance of Terms

Registering and utilizing the application or environment means accepting these Terms and any relevant laws, rules, or regulations as well. You understand that these Terms may be changed as need be which you will check frequently. If no alterations are made to the Application or site with the two months following changes made, you have the right to assume those modifications were done in compliance with set terms.

2. Eligibility/Child safety standards

You must be at least 18 years to use this application or site. The account that you made states that you are legally allowed to engage within a contract that binds yourself to your region/jurisdiction.

For the sake of clarity, we would like to indicate that this app is particularly not aimed at children or devotees; but, girls over 18 and boys above 21.

Despite the fact that no adult content is present in the app, We would like to stress that child safety measures, such as restricting registration for marriage purposes to individuals aged 18 and older, have been incorporated into the app design.

3. Account Registration

• Post any content deemed offensive, obscene, defamatory, or unlawful.
• Use the application or website for illegal activities including harassment or fraud.

We have the right to delete or change any User Content that we deem violates these Terms.

In the dressing of Information Technology Act, 2000 (“IT Act") and its amendments, Devotee Matrimony (“we,” “our,” “us”) provides notice of its enduring commitment to keeping your personal data secure and private. It is also our commitment to comply with the provisions of the IT Act, 2000, Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011, and Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021. In compliance with Intermediary Guidelines under the IT Act we are obliged to oversee and manage user generated content for compliance with the laws of India and their scope.

• Should not infringe any Indian laws that govern obscenity for example, defamation, child pornography, and other unlawful acts.
• Should not violate or breach the intellectual property of any other parties.

We reserve the right to take down or remove content which is deemed offensive, defamatory, illegal or breaches the terms of service.

4. Security Reasons for Personal Data

As a provider of online matrimonial services, we have reasonable measures to ensure the protection of sensitive personal data and information (SPDI) as per the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011.

We adopt the following methods:

• Password Encryption: All sensitive data like passwords and other financial information are stored in encrypted format to ensure privacy.
• Access Restriction: Private information can only be accessed by authorized staff.
• Service Retention: Personal data will only be stored for as long as necessary to fulfill the services purpose.
• Data Deletion: Unwanted personal data will be securely deleted when no longer needed. Take note that sensitive personal data or information are passwords, financial information, health information, sexual orientation, and biometric details.

6. Reporting Illegal Content or Activities

As per the provisions of the Information Technology Act of 2000, Section 79, we are not responsible for the content created by users. We are only responsible for the content if it is illegal or goes against our policies. If you see any content which breaks the law, our regulations or can be termed as defamatory, obscene or making personal attacks, we encourage you to report it to our grievance officer.

Types of Content You Can Report:

• Offensive Content that is sexually explicit, defamatory or threatening in nature.
• Fictitious profiles and other acts of deception.
• Child Pornography or any other content with minors.
• Intellectual property violations and invasion of privacy.

7. Compliance with Data Protection Laws

Your privacy and the protection of personal data is important to us, and we adhere to the Data Protection Laws of India (which include the Personal Data Protection Bill, where applicable).
